It's not very often we see Tom Cruise's other half, Katie Holmes, out alone without her hubby or kid at her side. So when we caught up with her in LA, we were a bit disturbed that she was looking a bit disturbed. Is Scientology finally taking over her body? If this picture is anything to go by, Katie's already playing host to something strange. Scary!
Hubbard, founder of Scientology, carefully set up Scientology in its unalterable tightly controlled bureaucractic current form. Scientology/Hubbard hides the fact that the "upper levels" of Scientology deal with uninfesting Scientologists of their "body thetans" ("body thetans" are dead alien souls infesting us, supposedly, or so Scientologists are ultimately led to accept as fact). Scientology's "upper levels" are all about "body thetan" (alien souls) removal.
Scientology is a spiritual therapy practice, the upper levels of which one removes one's "body thetans." Hubbard set it up, so it is a dire excommunicatable offense to reveal this simplicity about the spiritual therapy practice that is the Scientology religion. Katie is years from being indoctrinated enough to learn that she is infested with "body thetans" yet. Katie like all beginner Scientologists are not allowed to even learn and thus she's completely unable to discuss the "upper levels", the "body thetan" removal spiritual therapy levels. Even those Scientologists who are doing the "upper levels" cannot discuss the "body thetan" infestation problem that Scientologists believe is fact. It takes years in total to remove one's individual load of "body thetans" and mum is the rule, all the way. Excommunication is the penalty for Scientologists talking about the "body thetan" infestation condition of all humans. The secrecy about "body thetan" removal is Hubbard's fault. Scientologists are stuck with the Hubbard penalty rule system protecting the secrecy of Scienotlogy's inordinate amount of spiritual therapy work they do on themselves to remove their "body thetans." Scientologists are unfortunately stuck with the Hubbard system. Better to sympathize, and openly discuss "body thetan" removal spiritual therapy efforts simply with Scientologists, and Katie also, to break down their secrecy penalty rules and help them see why the Hubbard "body thetan" spiritual practice is going nowhere. Albert, speaking as a person who's father's side is entirely Jewish and having grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins who escaped Europe to avoid the camps, I am going to ask you to NEVER USE THAT COMPARISON AGAIN. It is an insult to those who suffered under Nazi rule and a slap in the face to survivors and their families. To do so is to make light of it. There is NO COMPARISON to what happened then and what is going on with the COS today. No one is calling for Scientologists to be rounded up, stuffed into train cars, taken to some far out region, stripped naked, shaved bald, gassed and burned.
From what I've seen, Albert (or would you prefer OSA?) the issue is with numerous abuses that are occurring in YOUR so-called 'church'. There are THOUSANDS of accusations from around the globe of numerous human rights violations.
This has NEVER been about religion. This is about people using the cover of religion to justify cruelty towards their fellow man.
As for Katie; she looks tired and half-dead, even without this photo. Look at all the photos taken of her in the past year or even more. She's younger than me and she looks like she's aged twenty years ahead of her time. Really quite sad.

That gorgeous man on her left is probably a Scientologist. This is posting is typical of Scientology bashing from the religious hate crowd. This posting and anti-Scientology responses are so far from the truth it's sicking, and reminds me of the redicule Jews went through in Nazi Germany. The photographer probably had to take a 1000 photos before catching Katie blinking.

Germany has them listed as one of three "Threats to Democracy": Islamo-fascism, neo-Nazis, and Scientology. Scientology has an internal prison system, child labor abuses, forced abortions, and lots more that would really shock you to learn.

She obviously blinked at the blinding lights of the paparazzi. Idiots who scrape out something out of nothing. No wonder America is so ridiculous.I've ended up taking pictures where I blinked and I have to delete them and try again. In her case, the paps flash a 100 times and have all the control over the images they take. Paps have images of your face in motion too.
Katie's suckered into Scientology by the innate good natured people already suckered into Scientology, which is one of the entrenched problems of groups which are built up of not immediately detected false claims. She's got 10 years to her marriage contract to Tom, and I hope she opts out by year 10.
We need more decent in depth scholarly/intellectual books on the damn Scientology mess, if you ask me!
Hubbard (founder of Scientology) failed to listen and change for the better against the intelligent criticism that has for 5 decades been pointed at his bad ideas. He instead wrote penalty rules and now has an authoritarian organizational setup that blinders his followers from the backlogged and persistent outside world valid intelligent criticism against the Hubbard setup.
Scientologists I lived and worked with in the almost 30 years I was in Scientology were good people. Good people who were and are still stuck unwittingly in an authoritarian setup created by a man who would NOT listen to good criticism.

PS: But the battle is still in the idea arena, and I think our intellectuals are letting us down by NOT taking on Scientology in a smart intellectual assessment of the Hubbard canon and what Hubbard's canon of writings and lectures.

I have to agree the basis of an article is pretty flimsy. Scientology is worth negative press, but I feel sorry for Katie to be suckered in only to get this kind of articles.
Regarding Scientology (first of all, sorry for 'spamming' this post). However, there is a horrible truth beneath the thin veil of calling themselves a religion. In reality it is a mind control cult and they submit their members to very, very serious abuses.
