America Ferrera waves hello from the red carpet at the 2009 SAG Awards.  The Ugly Betty actress looked adorable in a brown dress accented by black bows; loves it!

America was up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series but lost out to Tina Fey (she takes it home again!), better luck next year! 

UPDATE: 30 Rock sweeps again!  Tina Fey has taken home best actress, Alec Baldwin best actor and the show has won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.  Congratulations to a well deserving cast!

  

Nicole Kidman was nothing short of glowing as she attended Glamour Magazine's 2008 Women of the Year Awards last evening. 

Held at Carnagie Hall in New York City, the magazine honored Nicole for her work as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNIFEM.  During her acceptance speech she paid tribute to her husband Keith Urban who attended the even with her.  "Three years ago I had a wonderful career. I was getting movie offers. I had an Oscar. I had beautiful children. But there was something missing; I wasn't loved.  A man came along and said....'You deserve to be loved. Let me love you.' And I did.  So thank you, Keith."

Nicole was joined by other glamorous women, such as Natalie Portman, Selita Ebanks, Taylor Swift and American Ferrera. 

         

Aye, Betty Suarez! Turn down that electric jacket, it's hurting my eyes!

We spotted America Ferrera and Becki Newton shooting an episode of Ugly Betty on location in New York City this afternoon.  Betty may have been wearing her most colorful outfit yet, with purple tights and a pumpkin orange jacket. 

There's been some dramz on set with Lindsay Lohan guest spot.  Apparently LiLo's role got cut down from 6 to 4 episodes because she was a nightmare on set (whaa?).  A source told US Weekly that "Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to re-paint her dressing room it was such a mess."  Others say it was America who couldn't handle Lindsay "stealing her thunder". Oooh.

The best part is the pantsing.  America caused LiLo to accidentally flash the cast during an episode entitled "Granny Pants."  Lindsay - who played Betty's high school enemy - was supposed to "de-pants" America. But the scene calls for America to turn the tables – and pull down LiLo's pants instead and apparently Lindsay wasn't wearing underwear.  "Woops!"  Can't wait til we see this on tv, the cattiness will be palpable.

     

Lindsay Lohan is working hard on the Ugly Betty set.  We spotted the actress in the role of a "mean girl" from Betty's (America Ferrera) past.  Her wardrobe has been eclectic so far; we've seen her as a cheerleader, a fast food worker and yesterday she had on sexy, purple bandage dress and some kind of crazy blazer with giant shoulder pads.

Lindsay has also been going strong with Samantha Ronson.  The two have been spotted together at every event, fashion week, the VMAs, and there is talk of a possible wedding by the end of the year!

          

The gals in slacks are back! Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively and Amber Tamblyn were all on hand last night for the NYC premiere of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2.  The ladies rocked some um, interesting choices for the red carpet.  I was not a fan of Amber's elephant gray jumpsuit nor did I like Alexis's slicked back hair, pink lip stick and frilly, black mini dress-it was a little too Robert Palmer back up dancer for me.  I think the stand out of the evening was America, who looked gorgeous in a strapless blue frock and half up swept hair.

The cast was joined by Blake's Gossip Girl co-stars Leighton, Chace and Ed although Penn was noticeably absent (dis!) and Ali Lohan, who's making the rounds in Manhattan.

When we last saw the girls they were gathered together trying to sort out their summer of magical Levis.  We catch up with them a few years later as they've moved on to college, with new loves, new adventures but the same old pair of jeans.  Check out the trailer here.

         

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell have announced that they are having twins!  The couple, who were married just a year ago, confirmed the news this morning and say that Rebecca is due this winter.
Rebecca will be returning as Alexis Meade on Ugly Betty next season.  We caught Rebecca as well as co-stars America Ferrera, Eric Mabius and Judith Light on set over the weekend.

   

America Ferrera is so adorable, even when she's dressed up as Ugly Betty.  We spotted the star on set (who was hard to miss in her pink, floral print dress and green stripped tights) in its new NYC location along with co-stars Michael Urie and Becki Newton. 

      

America Ferrera and the rest of the Ugly Betty gang got on their best and brightest soft ball uniforms for the tapping of the season finale.  In some cases, like for Michael Urie, it looks like the uniforms were maybe slightly too form fighting, ahem.  It looks like Mode magazine is going to have a showdown on the baseball diamond, with guest apperances by Naomi Campbell and maybe even LiLo (I'll guess they'll be on team from Bitch magazine). 

        

We spotted a makeup-less America Ferrera at JFK airport in New York over the weekend.  America, who looked shocked that anyone would want to take her picture, was leaving with long time boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams.  I appreciate America's ability to leave the house not fully made up and she still looks totally flawless even with out coiffed hair and gobs of mascara!

America Ferrera showed she's more SWEATY Betty than Ugly Betty when she turned up for an event in New York and gave everyone a soggy, unflattering view of her armpit. America's smile was insured for $10 million by the Aquafresh Smiles for Success charity. Let's hope her breath smells better than her underarms.
