New York ground to a virtual halt today as millions of Yankees fans flocked to Manhattan to join their heroes in the World Series celebrations.

The champions, including baseball greats Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter, took part in a victory parade before heading to City Hall.

Formalities over, the team was expected to party the night away at an NY venue before, no doubt, heading off to the sun for some much needed rest.

       

Making a movie is thirsty work, just ask Katie Holmes...

Two days running now we've caught up with Katie heading to the set of her new movie, The Romantics, in Long Island.

And she needs at least one cup of coffee to get her in the mood to work all day long.

Britney Spears has been all smiles for the cameras since she landed in Australia to start the latest leg of her world tour.

But, after tantalising photogs with her bra-less display yesterday, the singer made sure her girls were all covered up today as she left her hotel.

She did however hit the street in some stylish knee-high boots and a short black dress, showing the daily workouts on stage are doing wonders for her physique.

While her mom Katie Holmes is busy filming her latest movie, The Romantics, in Long Island, NY, little Suri Cruise needs someone to keep her company.

So she turned up on set with her favorite stuffed toy, a squirrel she is clearly very fond of.

Suri arrived with her nanny, got hugs and kisses from her mom then had great fun running around with her little fluffy friend in her arms.

Having a dog is a huge responsibility.

And even big-time Hollywood stars have to ''scoop it when they poop it'' or risk a heavy fine on the street of NYC.

That's why, when we caught up with actress Sienna Miller out in Manhattan today, she made sure she didn't get a ticket when she cleaned up after her pet pooch.

It's nice to see she's a responsible dog owner...or was it just because our cameras were watching her.

Not to be outdone by his soon-to-be ex-wife, celebrity TV dad Jon Gosselin went one better today when he actually allowed cameras shoot him...having his hair done.

The normally camera-shy(LoL) father-of-eight called in at his local barber shop in Reading, PA, to have his tresses trimmed.

And the die-hard Phillies fan was forced to take some ribbing as his stylist just so happened to be a big-time Yankee follower.

We like it that Jon is so relaxed with photographers.

We just wish Kate was a bit happier to see us every time she goes to the salon.

Katie Holmes was looking a little bit chilly when we caught up with her this morning on the way to start her working day.

But she was clinging on to a cup of Joe to try and warm and wake her up at the same time.

Katie has waved goodbye to hubby Tom in Boston, and she has landed in Long Island to begin filming her latest movie, an independent production called The Romantics.

Josh Duhamel also stars in the film.

And, if the recent tabloid stories are true, ladies who work at any of New York's strip joints could be in for a good time if old JD pays them a visit.

Britney Spears has landed Down Under to start the latest leg of her world tour.

And she certainly gave fans more than they bargained for, because she forgot to wear her bra.

The Britster smiled and waved after arriving in Perth.

But we think some underwear was certainly in order, especially if she's going to meet young kids out in public.
